Tarakan– Pembangunan Pesantren Jati Diri Bangsa di Kalimantan Utara mengundang perhatian berbagai pihak, terutama organisasi kepemudaan Islam yang memiliki kepedulian terhadap pendidikan berbasis nilai-nilai keislaman.
Pimpinan Wilayah Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah (PW IPM) Kalimantan Utara menegaskan pentingnya kejelasan konsep, regulasi, dan transparansi dalam pendirian pesantren tersebut.
Ketua PW IPM Kaltara, Indri Narulita menyampaikan bahwa pesantren memiliki definisi dan fungsi yang jelas dalam sistem pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, setiap pendirian pesantren harus sejalan dengan
“Undang-Undang Nomor 18 Tahun 2019 tentang Pesantren”
“Pesantren bukan sekadar institusi pendidikan, tetapi juga pusat dakwah dan pemberdayaan umat. Jika sebuah lembaga mengusung nama pesantren, maka harus dipastikan bahwa ia berpegang teguh pada nilai-nilai Islam dan memiliki sistem pendidikan yang jelas sesuai dengan regulasi yang berlaku,” tegasnya.
PW IPM Kaltara menyoroti konsep Pesantren Jati Diri Bangsa yang dikabarkan menerima santri dari berbagai agama dan lebih menitikberatkan pada pendidikan bela negara. Menurut Indri, hal ini perlu dikaji lebih dalam agar tidak terjadi pergeseran makna terhadap pesantren itu sendiri.
“Kami ingin memahami lebih jauh, apakah konsep ini masih sesuai dengan esensi pesantren sebagaimana diatur dalam undang-undang? Jika pesantren ini menerima santri dari berbagai agama dan lebih menekankan pada bela negara, maka perlu ada kejelasan: apakah ini lembaga pendidikan Islam atau lebih tepat disebut sebagai akademi kebangsaan?” ujarnya
Selain itu, PW IPM Kaltara menekankan bahwa pembangunan pesantren harus dilakukan dengan prinsip musyawarah dan keterlibatan organisasi Islam, bukan keputusan sepihak yang berpotensi menimbulkan polemik di tengah masyarakat.
“Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), dan organisasi Islam lainnya memiliki peran besar dalam menjaga keberlangsungan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, seharusnya ada dialog dan keterlibatan aktif dari berbagai pihak sebelum sebuah pesantren didirikan, agar tidak menimbulkan pertanyaan dan kekhawatiran dari masyarakat” tambahnya.
Sebagai organisasi pelajar Islam, PW IPM Kaltara memiliki tanggung jawab untuk mengawal kebijakan pendidikan agar tetap berada dalam koridor nilai-nilai keislaman dan kebangsaan. Untuk itu, IPM Kaltara mengajukan tiga poin rekomendasi utama
1. Dialog Terbuka – Meminta klarifikasi dan diskusi terbuka dengan pihak yang membangun *Pesantren Jati Diri Bangsa* untuk memahami konsep dan regulasi yang diterapkan.

2. Pendampingan Regulasi – Mendorong pemerintah daerah dan Kementerian Agama untuk memastikan bahwa pesantren ini memenuhi persyaratan dalam Undang-Undang Pesantren.
3. Keterlibatan Organisasi Islam – Mengajak Muhammadiyah, NU, FKUB, dan instansi terkait untuk bersama-sama mengawal kebijakan pendidikan Islam agar tetap sejalan dengan kebutuhan umat.
“IPM Kaltara tidak menolak inovasi dalam dunia pendidikan, tetapi inovasi tersebut harus tetap berpijak pada landasan yang jelas. Kami ingin memastikan bahwa lembaga yang mengusung nama pesantren benar-benar mencerminkan nilai-nilai Islam dan memberikan manfaat bagi umat, bukan sekadar label tanpa esensi,” pungkas Indri.
PW IPM Kaltara menegaskan komitmennya untuk terus mengawal perkembangan ini dan memastikan bahwa pendidikan Islam di Kalimantan Utara tetap berada dalam jalur yang benar, sesuai dengan regulasi dan kepentingan umat Islam.(*)
